InsightFD is made up of three main elements: a high-performance camera with dual thermal-visible optics; an AI-engine that analyzes images to identify the presence of smoke or flames; a management software platform called Insight Globe that controls the cameras, manages alarm signals, indicates the location of the fire on the map and interfaces with third-party systems.
The system automatically performs a panoramic scan of the surrounding area through the double thermal-visible optics, simultaneously carrying out the real-time analysis of both video streams in search of flames and / or smoke.
The analysis is carried out on the RAW images in order to have the greatest number of details possible in the scene and greater detection effectiveness. From the tests carried out, InsightFD is able to detect the presence of a fire of only 2 square meters at a distance of 5Km.
The system is able to automatically determine the precise position of the fire with an accuracy of +/- 50m thanks to a complex algorithm that takes into account the DEM (Digital Elevation Model) of the monitored area, while many other competitor solutions can only reach an accuracy of +/- 1 km.
Fire detection is carried out by the AI-Engine supplied as a rugged appliance to be installed near the camera in order to perform on-edge analysis and reduce the minimum bandwidth requirements for the connection of InsightFD with the operations center, towards which only the alarm signals are sent and not necessarily the real-time streaming of the video streams.

The system in the field has an IP66 degree of protection and a consumption of only 50Watts, with the possibility of carrying out remote installations powered by solar panels and batteries.
InsightFD is capable of detecting flames and smoke at a distance of 15km, a single camera can therefore monitor an area of 70,000 hectares.
The cameras are connected to the Insight Globe (IG) management platform, an easy-to-use software to allow users to manage the system, generate fire alerts on 2D and 3D maps with support for Windows, macOS, Unix, iOS and operating systems. Android.
Through Insight Globe, the operator can check the list of alarms in real time, view thermal and visible images with the possibility of carrying out analyzes on the possible behavior and movements of the fire.
It is also possible to integrate third-party data into the visualization such as the surveys of the meteorological stations, the fire danger index and the simulation of behavior in the event of fire. The system keeps the history of the detected fires complete with the references on the map and the date and time, this information is very useful for the analysis and mitigation of the post-event risk.
For short-range applications in the industrial sector it is possible to use simple cameras with single fixed visible lens or PTZ, with a very low cost in infrastructure and the possibility of using a cloud analysis service that simplifies and speeds up the adoption of the system while maintaining detection effectiveness.
